a statement on authenticity

Authenticity is an important aspect to participating in art.

Authenticity is defined as genuine; based on facts; accurate or reliable; made or done in the traditional or original way, or in a way that faithfully resembles an original. Because I support an open art medium where observer becomes participant becomes artist, the originality of my work as it exists in a future state is suddenly a questionable or debatable topic.

Participating in human culture is a constant trade of ideas, a commerce that creates the future, and a system of capitalism usually based on tangible goods. Artwork transcends this system by existing as concept, as object, and as real estate that can be brokered. Ethereal, quotidian, investment vehicle.

The digital records I keep of the work I publish serve to suit both my needs for obsessive documentation of life and the ability to reference previous endeavors, as well as an archive for those who are interested in examining the ideas herein produced.
