Ohne
Ohne is a series of twelve works built from composition techniques discovered during the creation of Study for Berlin and Text No. 4 (Exodus).
This series of small panels were catalyzed from Anton Ehrenzweig’s writings on artists’ utilization of the subconscious to create non-objective compositions. One intention is to seek the form of “pure abstraction” using ripped text in the medium of collage. At this juncture is an additional effort to use the medium of collage as an alternative expression of palette knife strokes often found in abstract painting.
